TYPICAL ITINERARY

Start: Airlie Beach
- Hook passage (stay overnight)
- Tongue Bay (access point to Whitehaven Beach, water sports)
- Dumbell Island (snorkel)
- Nara Inlet (stay overnight)
- Langford Reef (snorkel, beach stay)
- Airlie Beach

The 2 day 1 night tour aboard Iceberg departs every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:30am from Airlie Beach. Every tour stays out in the whitsunday islands for 1 nights and returns at approximately 5:00pm on the next day.Our tour starts at Airlie Beach. We stop &stay at Whitehaven Beach each tour – voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Further snorkeling, water sports and beach stops are made.

A lot of the time will be spend on the boat, so we can cover the maximum possible area of the Whitsundays and snorkel at the best reef locations. The nights are also spend on the boat, safely anchored in calm bays.

Dumbbell Island
Dumbbell Island is located right in the middle of the outside of the Whitsunday island group. It is in a perfect location. Despite being a small island it provides great shelter from the prevailing south easterly winds. Not only does is contain amazing coral gardens, it is home to thousands of fishes. The smaller reef fish in particular are the most friendly here. It is common to look back and see 20-30 zebra fish following you. It further is the home to rainbow fish and clownfish (Nemos).

‘woodipile’ to Mantaray Bay
Iceberg guests are treated to the most exciting Whitsunday island snorkeling experience available. We start at the “woodpile” which is an amazing rock formation. The giant woodpile shape formation continues down to a depth of 15 metres, which amazing pristine corals have formed. Many Wrasses, the bigger reef fish, live here. Then relax as the current takes you into Mantaray Bay which is the most fish abundant bay in the Whitsundays.

Esk island
Located at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach. “Picturesque Esk” as it is often known is a truly postcard-worthy island. The fringing reef surrounding it ranges in depth meaning there is always good snorkeling to be found here.

The above selection are a few examplesof where we go snorkeling. We also visit lots of other bays and have permitsfor all snorkel bays. Further bays we often visit are Blue Pearl bay(Hayman Island),Langford Reef, Bali Hai (Black island), Cave's Cove, Raven's Cove, Butterfly Bay, Maureen's Cove(all Hook Island), Cataran Bay, Pit shop Bay(both Border island), Windy Bay, Chalkies Beach (Haslewood island) and more(no coral reef to be found at Whithaven Beach). Our tour makes at least 2 snorkel stops. Guests are welcome to snorkelas long as they desire at each stop.

Sailing
Strap on your ‘sea legs’, as there is lots of sailing to be done. While on ice offers a more comfortable sailing experience than traditional monohulls, it is still fast enough to keep up with most of the ‘retired’ whitsunday racing boats. Sit up at the front deck for maximum exposure and fun or help the crew man the cockpit in the back. The choice is yours.

Snorkelling
We will do at least 2 snorkel stops during each of our whitsunday tours. While there is coral reef in many bays in the whitsundays, we try to visit the most secluded bays with the highest volume of colourful coral and fish and the best visibility. As on ice takes only 10 passengers, we are allowed to visit more bays than the other boats. We cater for 1st timers/weak swimmers and adventure snorkellers a like.

Hill inlet lookout
On the northern end of Whitehaven Beach, one finds the Hill Inlet Lookout, with its swirling sands. We make every effort to ensure you get to the best part of the beach at the best time of the day. If possible we try to access the lookout in the afternoon rather than the morning as there will be considerably less people there.

Whitehaven beach
Whitehaven Beach is the jewel of the whitsundays. We believe it warrants much more than just a quick photograph and walk around. Starting at the south end of whitehaven beach, we can off load our water sports equipment and take you the entire length of whitehaven beach. Our mission, to experience whitehaven beach like no one else before.

In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.

Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)

The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
