GETTING TO THE WHITSUNDAYS
The Whitsundays are located in central Queensland, approximately 1,100km north of Brisbane and 700km south of Cairns. Getting to Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsundays, is easy with a variety of Air, Rail and Road options available.
THE WHITSUNDAYS BY AIR
The Whitsundays are serviced by two domestic airports, Whitsunday Coast Airport on the mainland at Proserpine, and Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island. Proserpine is situated about 20kms inland from Airlie Beach with shuttles meeting all flights to take you to in to the beach town.
International access to the Whitsundays is available via connecting flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Cairns. Airlines servicing the region are Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar.

THE WHITSUNDAYS BY RAIL
Queensland Rail's 'Sunlander' and 'Queenslander' services to Proserpine depart Brisbane and Cairns several times weekly. The Great South Pacific Express also services this area.

The new Tilt Train services Proserpine Station, with two return services weekly between Brisbane and Cairns. THE WHITSUNDAYS BY COACH
Coach company Greyhound offers regular services between major cities and Airlie Beach. Greyhound has several daily services that run northbound from Brisbane and southbound from Cairns.
THE WHITSUNDAYS BY CAR
If you choose to drive to the Whitsundays the roads are in excellent condition with some beautiful scenery along the way. The Bruce Highway runs from Brisbane to Cairns. The turn off to Airlie Beach is one km north of Proserpine (150 km north of Mackay, 300 km south of Townsville) and is then a 20km trip into the beach town.

Booking Terms and Conditions:
1. The operator reserves the right to alter prices, cancel departures, apply a fuel surcharge, arrange alternative transport, itineraries and services when necessary.
2. In the interest of passenger safety departures and itineraries are subject to sea and weather conditions. Should the company be forced to cancel or alter cruises our liability is limited to offering an alternative or appropriate refund no greater than the fare paid.
3. The company shall not be held responsible for any property loss or damage and/or any claim resulting from personal injury or death arising whilst travelling with the company, participating in activities, on the vessel or pontoon or other company property. This disclaimer applies irrespective of the cause.
4. Where another company or persons operate the service such as diving, Seawalker and helicopter flights, the operator is acting only as a Sales Agent. Responsibility and liability for the operation lies with that operator.
5. All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST. Prices valid for travel from 1 April 09 to 31 March 10.
6. Children's fare, 4-14 years inclusive. Infants, under 4 years old, are no charge however please advise at time of booking when an infant is travelling.
7. Age and medical restrictions apply to diving and Seawalker activities. A medical questionnaire must be completed. Due to altitude restrictions certified divers cannot fly after diving.
8. Cancellation fees
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
- within 12 hours 25%. No shows 100%. There is no transfer free is transfered to another cruise run by the operator.
9. The operator can not be held responsible for missed flights due to late arrival at airline check-in counter.
10. Pets are not allowed onboard.

Q: Is it going to be hot when I get to the Whitsundays?
A: The Whitsunday Islands are classified as being located in the tropics with an average daily temperature of 27°C. Summer is over those months around January where the average temperature is over 30°C. The winter months are those around July with an average temperature of 23°C. The water temperature in the Whtisundays varies from around 23°C in winter to 28°C in summer. If it's summer time in tropical North Queensland take plenty of sunscreen with you and a hat!

Q: Is there shade on the boat and on the pontoon?
A: Yes, the boat and the pontoon provide plenty of protection from the sun but you should still continue with all the normal precautions - apply sunscreen at regular intervals throughout the day and wear a hat.
Q: Can I scuba dive?
A: Yes, you can scuba dive when visiting Knuckle Reef Lagoon on the Great Barrier Reef Adventure day cruise. We provide our guests with the opportunity to dive (whether certified or discover introductory), snorkel and learn about the reef with one of the operator's professional, qualified instructors. All you need to do is either pre-book your activities before you depart or let the crew know you would like to partake in these activities when you are travelling out to the reef.
Q: Can I buy drinks on the boat?
A: A full range of drinks are available through out the day with our Great Barrier Reef Adventure. On the Camira Sailing Adventure, your drinks are included in the cost of the cruise. Tea and Coffee are provided throughout the day on both cruises.
Q: Is there drinking water on board the boats?
A: On the Great Barrier Reef Adventures trip, normal tap water is available free and bottled water is for sale. On Camira there is a cold water cooler with filtered water.
Q: How long does it take to get to the reef?
A: It takes 2.5 - 3 hours to get to Knuckle Reef Lagoon depending on the weather and sea conditions.
Q: What do we do whilst cruising to the reef?
A: Getting there is half the fun on board 'Seaflight' a 37 metre wavepiercer ideally suited to outer reef cruising. It is the largest and most comfortable vessel in the Whitsundays and the only one fitted with a motion control system. It has spacious air-conditioned lounges, large outer viewing decks and two bars serving refreshments. We offer Marine Biologist talks and informative commentary as well as stunning views of the Whitsunday Islands.
Q: What if I forget something, do you sell things like sunscreen on the boat?
A: Yes, ’Seaflight’ sells merchandise like shirts, hats, sunscreen and seasick tablets.

A: The Reef Tax or Great Barrier Reef Environmental Management charge is included in your cruise fares. This charge goes to the Government and is used for the management and protection of the reef by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking, you must complete our no-obligations reservations enquiry form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your enquiry, we will contact you via phone or email, to advise of availability and confirm the final price is correct - and discuss payment options. A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation notice and at this stage the deposit is processed on your credit card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
Please note we accept Visa and Mastercard and the credit card fees are:
1) 1.75% for the deposit amount.
2) 1.75% for the balance of payment.
If you are booking via phone, please first make sure you have read the terms and conditions of your selected sailing adventure. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental, trip or charter services.
Please check the terms of each vessel to see whether amendment fees apply. Please also note that for some vessels an amendment is treated as a new booking and the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.
Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
