OTHER INFORMATION

Location Guide
Blue Pearl Bay is on Hayman Island, about 30km from Airlie Beach, and is part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The Whitsundays are on Queensland's Tropical coast, about 1.5 hours north of Mackay and 3 hours south of Townsville. Blue Pearl Bay, the preferred destination, is on Hayman Island, 16 nautical miles (about 30km) north/north-east of Airlie, across Passage.  The Whitsunday Islands are part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Blue Pearl Bay
Blue Pearl Bay is on Hayman Island, in the northern part of the magnificent Whitsunday Islands on Queensland's Central Coast. Sail and relax with Illusions as you leave Abel Point Marina at Airlie Beach and cross the Whitsunday Passage to Hayman Island.

Watching and being part of the fish feeding at Blue Pearl Bay is an absolute highlight of any trip to the Whitsundays. You will be surrounded by hundreds of fish ranging in size from the smaller Sergeant Majors and brilliantly coloured Fusiliers right up to your own metre long Giant Wrasse, called "Mick Jagger Junior" for obvious reasons!!

Whether you choose to snorkel (free tuition is provided for those experiencing this for the first time) or take an introductory or certified scuba dive with your own qualified instructor, you will be delighted at the range and diversity of the coral at Blue Pearl. As is typical of fringing reefs, the range of coral is extensive, with all sorts of hard and soft corals waiting for you to explore their fragile beauty -- not to mention the Giant Clam.

For those not wanting or unable to venture into the water, Illusions is equipped with Bathyscopes that allow you to see the coral and fish life from above water as you float over the bay in the dinghy. Yes -- everyone that goes out on Illusions gets to see the fish and coral.

Enjoy a magnificent buffet lunch as the Operator takes you to the second destination, time permitting, usually Langford Reef, and then it is time to get into the boom net -- Illusions own version of a saltwater spa! And when you get out of the net the Operator has a hot fresh water shower available for you, right at the back of the boat.

Should the weather prevent you getting to Blue Pearl Bay -- a pretty unusual event -- the Operator has other locations that will let you experience the wonder of the fringing reefs of the magnificent Whitsundays. You will still be guaranteed a wonderful day.

Wherever the Operator takes you, a smile is guaranteed at the end of the day!

Langford Island and Reef
Langford Island and Reef is opposite Hayman Island Resort, one of the world's top resorts.

The beach is actually a sand spit that stretches from Langford Island at the western side to One Foot Island to the east. It is called One Foot Island because at high tide that is about all the sand that you can see--the rest may be completely underwater.

You are free to snorkel or dive again or walk along this pretty beach, with views across to Hayman, Black (Bali Hai), Arkhurst, Bird and Hook Islands and to Stonehaven, a popular day and overnight anchorage. If weather or tide conditions make Langford unsuitable for a stop, you will stop at one of these locations - whichever offers the best conditions on the day.

If you are not feeling that energetic, kick back and relax until it is time to head back on board for the return trip to Airlie Beach.

Perfect spot to hold a wedding ceremony.

IF YOU FEEL ROMANTIC THE OPERATOR ALSO DOES A 2 HOUR SUNSET CRUISE

A magnificent buffet lunch is included, with shrimp cocktails, chilli mussels, chicken, salads, pasta, fresh sliced fruit and fresh bread rolls-- guaranteed to be the best lunch in the Whitsundays.

If you are in hurry then this is not the cruise for you.

In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental, trip or charter services.

Amendments
Please check the terms of each vessel to see whether amendment fees apply. Please also note that for some vessels an amendment is treated as a new booking and the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.

Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
