Cairns And Cape York Private Sailing Charters
Australia’s last frontier, Cape York is pure wilderness and adventure. Some of Australia’s most spectacular dive sites are to be found in the hundreds of nautical miles of offshore reefs and cays.
At the tip lie the Torres Straits; a cluster of islands tossed like pearls in the ocean between mainland Australia and New Guinea. Gateway to the Far North region is the cosmopolitan city of Cairns, home port to Mustique and the embarking point for this section of cruising.
As the waters of the reef warm with the spring tides, the corals produce a spectacular annual display. Coral spawning is an event not to be missed by serious divers and is best seen on the remote reefs at the edge of the Continental Shelf around the end of October.
The Cod Hole, Lizard Island, Pixie’s Pinnacle, Steve’s Bommie, Wreck Bay, the Great Detached Reef and the 1890 wreck ‘MV Quetta’, - these sites are renowned the world over for teeming marine life, excellent visibility and the variety of hard and soft corals thriving in the clear, healthy waters of these magnificent reef systems.
Divers can’t speak highly enough of Osprey Reef, a stand-alone location 80kms east from the main Barrier Reef. It’s remote isolation has given rise to huge schools of pelagic fish and sharks, crystal clear water and walls that drop to depths of 3,000 feet and more.
If diving – and fishing – feature on your agenda, this is the perfect environment. Mustique follows an itinerary, which frequently includes – but is not limited to – Princess Charlotte Bay, Cape Grenville, Shellburne Bay, Turtle Head Island, Lizard Island, Osprey Reef, Cape Melville, the Flinders Group, Albany Passage, and Thursday Island and Horn Island in the Torres Straits.
Australia’s history and culture are a feature of this segment – Possession Island is where Capt James Cook claimed the continent for the Crown of England and indigenous culture and the early history of pearling and beche de mer fishing are showcased in the Torres Straits.
Airlie Beach, Blue Pearl Bay, Border Island, Butterfly Bay, Cataran Bay, Chance Bay, Cid Harbour, Daydream Island, Great Barrier Reef , Hamilton Island, Langford Island, Lindeman Island, Long Island, Nara, Shaw Island, Shute Harbour, South Molle Island, Stonehaven, Tongue Bay, Turtle Bay, Whitehaven Beach,

Mustique is privately owned by an Australian couple who love adventuring around Australia, and at times the vessel will be unavailable for general charter. However as most itineraries are planned well in advance, we can usually accommodate and match your expectations of dates and seasons.
‘Mustique’ is a superbly appointed 110 ft luxury motor yacht available for private charter. She has earned her outstanding reputation for highly personalised and exclusive service while exploring the most sought after and remote destinations around Australia and the Pacific.
Mustique’s features and facilities are second to none, and on board dining and accommodation are guaranteed to please the most discerning guest. Her experienced crew is at your service and happy to answer any questions you have about your journey.
The exceptional combined experience and expertise of Mustique’s crew ensures an exemplary standard of service. We are there to support your vacation in a style which is intuitive, genuinely friendly and completely professional.
Mustique’s Captain brings over 25 years of international experience to the bridge. David and Irene have spent the last four years ensuring the smooth operation of this privately owned vessel, and have travelled and researched all her destinations extensively. Their local knowledge is invaluable in helping you enjoy your voyage to the fullest.
As with our Executive Chef, all Mustique’s team members are highly qualified in their fields whether it be scuba diving, medical aid, eco-guiding, or cocktail mixing! As Australians, we are passionate about our country and showcasing its splendour to visitors, yet your safety and comfort are our priority at all times.
Our only goal is to ensure your voyage will be a complete pleasure and a lasting memory.
On board cuisine is a feature of Mustique our guests tell us they look forward to time and time again. The ever-changing seasonal menu strikes a superb balance that is both globally sophisticated and distinctly Australian. From specialty signature dishes featuring the freshest seafood and tropical delicacies to your favourite requests, catering is a passion and a pleasure for Mustique’s acclaimed Executive Chef.
A fine spectrum of wines, beers and liqueurs from some of Australia's and New Zealand’s finest producers has been chosen to enhance our menus and to give you new tastes to explore and remember.
In addition to being a feast for the senses, Mustique’s cuisine is consistently delicate and health conscious allowing the subtle flavours and textures of each dish to seduce, but not overpower, the palate. Special dietary needs and cultural tastes are accommodated with flair and attention.
The pleasure of on board dining takes on another realm when enhanced with our cut crystal glassware, table napery, Wedgewood, silver cutlery and personal service which supports, but does not intrude.
There is a smooth order and rhythm to shipboard dining, which our guests embrace very quickly. The spacious aft deck with its inviting teak table and chairs is perfect for breakfast, lunch and star gazing dining – full moons are particularly spectacular!
Inside the air-conditioned saloon, gracious dining and candlelit dinners are shared around Mustique’s expansive banquet table, accommodating 12 diners easily.
From our galley comes a daily stream of aromatic special coffees and teas, from espresso lattes and cappuccinos to over a dozen styles of teas.
The long bar in the Saloon is always inviting, particularly more so when our crew start mixing creative and thirst-quenching cocktails at days’ end.

It’s appropriate to introduce our activities by saying that you can and will feel like lazing away the days and doing nothing at all, and there is no better – or remote – place to unwind.
The carefree feeling of floating in absolute luxury refreshes the senses quickly, and you soon become alert to new possibilities and challenges. Then, the choice is yours.
Stroll along deserted beaches of white, powdered sand…take a picnic and some snorkelling gear ashore to a tropical island atoll...spend long, lazy hours swimming, exploring and sun worshipping…idle time is yours to enjoy.
Within this extraordinary travel experience are gems like whale watching in the warm waters of the Outer Barrier Reef, diving – day and night – on reef sites that completely take your breath away, photographing our stunningly beautiful remote locations and the wildlife that surrounds you in our planet’s last remaining wilderness regions, disembarking to explore with an eco-guide and bushwalking the freedom trails of the magnificent Kimberley Ranges.
Fishing, water-skiing…whatever thrills and challenges you can be made into a tailor-made itinerary during your Mustique experience. Whether you want to get away with a group of like-minded friends, or indulge in pampered time with your partner or family, this holiday is the experience of a lifetime.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental, trip or charter services.
Amendments
Please check the terms of each vessel to see whether amendment fees apply. Please also note that for some vessels an amendment is treated as a new booking and the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). In the case of boat rental/yacht charter, if the hire or number of days is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged.
Vessel Capacity and fitness to charter (for Bareboats only)
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vessel you charter is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of passengers allowed is indicated next to each vessel on this website. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A boat or trip supplier can refuse to hire a vessel to any person who is in their opinion unfit to skipper or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
